Contractor Connect 2022 Names Location, Dates
Technology Publishing Company has recently announced the location and dates for its fifth annual Contractor Connect for industrial coating professionals.
The hosted buyer event will bring together qualified buyers (contractors) and sellers (suppliers) Oct. 25-28, at the Hammock Beach Golf Resort & Spa, in Palm Coast, Florida, through a variety of networking activities and prescheduled one-on-one meetings.
Located just minutes south of St. Augustine, Florida, the Hammock Beach Golf Resort & Spa is described as “an extraordinary treasure” nested on the Palm Coast beaches of the Atlantic Coast.
Featuring 300 guestrooms and suites throughout its three towers, in addition to spacious condominiums and an assortment of public spaces, the resort property is reported to be an oasis of tranquility and relaxation whose staff is committed to delivering a first-class experience.
In looking out from the resort, guests attending the event will be met with unparalleled views of the ocean and its Jack Nicklaus-designed oceanfront golf course. Additionally, the resort features a second golf course as well: the Conservatory Course, designed by Tom Watson. Both courses are reported to have spectacular oceanfront views, dramatic rolling hills and challenging layouts.
Besides the rich ocean views and golfing opportunities, the resort also features several indoor and outdoor restaurant and bar options, numerous guest activities such as its full-service spa, tennis courts and fitness center, in addition to pool and beach swimming options.
Reported to be one of Florida’s most sought-after meeting locations, Hammock Beach Resort & Spa boasts over 16,000 square feet of indoor function space and over 40,000 square feet of flexible outdoor space.
Meeting rooms are noted to feature extensive audiovisual capabilities, which are serviced by the resort’s award-winning and professional event planning staff, offering a rare combination of natural beauty with modern conference facilities and luxury amenities.
Celebrating Contractor Connect 2021
Last year, Contractor Connect boasted private one-on-one meetings, panel discussions and several special events for attendees.
“After a long year, it was wonderful to finally connect contractors and suppliers in-person again,” said TPC CEO Brion Palmer. “Our Connect Events are something we take great pride in and are constantly aiming to improve for all participants. This year’s Contractor Connect was definitely one for the books!”
Networking activities kicked off the event, including oceanfront golf (sponsored by PPG), deep sea fishing (sponsored by Graco), kayaking and a tour of historic St. Augustine. Delegates also enjoyed a Casino Night (sponsored by Tnemec Company) followed by Stars and Cigars (Sponsored by CRW, Corr-Ze).
The newest addition to the event included the NASCAR Driving Experience at the Daytona International Speedway—home of the Daytona 500, the most prestigious race in NASCAR (sponsored by The Sherwin-Williams Company). The event gave attendees the opportunity to drive a NASCAR race car by themselves on the track with some delegates reported to have reached speeds of up to 150 mph. Sherwin-Williams also arranged to have NASCAR driver Greg Biffle attend the event. Biffle spoke to the group and drove many of the delegates around the track in his car, topping speeds of 200 mph.
Panel discussions featured talks on topics such as “Coatings: Supply Chain Challenges, New Technologies, Customer Relationships and What to Expect in 2022,” “Abrasives: Solutions, Industry Trends and Market Trends” and “Equipment: New Technology, Training and Customer Relationships.”
In a comment on LinkedIn to TPC’s Business Development Manager, Tracy Dunglinson, Induron President Hood wrote, “Best Contractor Connect yet!” Hood has been an attendee of the event since its inaugural year. In his post, he continued, “The [TPC] crew also put together the best group of contractors yet. Everyone that we engaged with was interested in truly growing their business and learning more about the Industrial Coatings Market.”
On the contractor side of things, Lucy Giaculi of Brave Industrial Painting sent a nice email: “Our team at Brave Industrial Paint LLC. would like to thank you for inviting us to the Contractor Connect Event 2021! It was a wonderful, insightful, informative, and enjoyable experience which we are extremely honored to have been a part of!
“We greatly appreciate your efforts in making it possible for us to attend the event! Our most sincere thanks!”
