AMPP Hosting First Annual Conference + Expo

WEDNESDAY, FEBRUARY 16, 2022

The Association for Materials Protection and Performance will hold its first annual conference under its new name next month in San Antonio at the Henry B. Gonzalez Convention Center. The conference, held March 6-10, merges SSPC: The Society for Protective Coatings’ Coatings+ and NACE International’s CORROSION conference, following the formation of AMPP in 2021.

AMPP Annual Conference + Expo 2022 is expected to host over 1,000 hours of technical education, 300,000 square feet of exhibit space and more than 350 companies displaying their latest in corrosion control and protective coatings.

Networking Events, Expo

Throughout the event, AMPP will host multiple networking events, awards ceremonies, breakfasts and presentations.

To kick off the conference, attendees can attend AMPP’s Crew Brew networking event on Saturday, March 5 from 6-10 p.m. near the San Antonio Riverwalk. An opening reception will be held on Sunday, March 6 from 5:30-7 p.m.

On Sunday, attendees can participate in the 2022 Darrel D. Byerley Memorial Golf Tournament at The Quarry Golf Course.

The Expo, which is reportedly the largest international corrosion and coatings tradeshow, will open Monday, March 7 from 5-7 p.m. and run from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Tuesday, March 8 and Wednesday, March 9.

In the Exhibit Hall, attendees can experience hands-on coating experiences or visit the cathodic protection test field. New this year, the AMPPiTheater will host presentations on sustainability, data capture technology, titanium grade selection, health hazards in the coatings industry and more.

On Tuesday, March 8, AMPP will host a career fair in the Hemisphere Ballroom from 8 a.m. to 12 p.m. This event will provide face-to-face interaction for job seekers and gauge candidate compatibility for employers.

The AMPP Awards, which are presented in recognition of members who have made outstanding contributions to AMPP and the corrosion control industry, will be located at the Grand Hyatt San Antonio Riverwalk. Honoree Night will be held Wednesday, March 9 from 6-10 p.m.
