Contractors Needed for Spheroid Tank Painting
The Village of Cary in Illinois is currently seeking contractors for the painting of a 400,000-gallon spheroid water tank and mechanical mixer.
Bids are due Feb. 1.
Scope of Work
This project involves painting a 400,000-gallon spheroid with a low level of 114 feet and a head range of 25 feet located at 3400 Three Oaks Road in Cary, Illinois.
The work includes Commercial Blast Cleaning (SSPC-SP 6/NACE No. 3) exterior surfaces and the application of a four-coat zinc, epoxy and urethane system.
The work also includes the abrasive blasting to Near White (SSPC-SP 10/NACE No. 3) standards of wet interior surfaces and coating using a three-coat zinc and epoxy system.
The project includes the abrasive blast cleaning to Commercial standards (SSPC-SP 6/NACE No. 3) of dry interior surfaces. This includes the entire bowl, access tube and spot failures. Access tube and bowl surfaces are to be coated using a three-coat epoxy system and a spot two-coat epoxy system to the other prepared surfaces.
Foundation surfaces are to be abrasive blast cleaned to Concrete Cleaning standards (SSPC-SP 13/ NACE No. 6) and coated using a two-coat epoxy system.
The project includes installation of cathodic clips and coupling.
Containment for this project is required.
Approved coating manufacturers for this project are Tnemec, Induron, PPG and Sherwin-Williams.
