New Product Announcement: Pigment Preparations

THURSDAY, DECEMBER 2, 2021

Organic pigment and dye provider Clariant has recently announced the launch of its new sustainable product line, Licosperse.

According to Clariant, the line is made up of eco-friendlier pigment preparations for wood coatings, polishes and other oil- or wax-based products. The collection of new products is made with non-toxic raw materials, are non-dusting and are heavy metals and resin free.

“The pastes are readily incorporated in the base media for the effortless production of consistent color,” said Rossitza Dimitrova, Clariant’s Regional Technical Marketing Manager, Middle East and Africa. “They can also be incorporated at high temperatures as the production method requires. There are no dangerous goods restrictions for transport and storage, reducing the risks in product handling and transportation.”

Clariant recommends that the sustainable pigment preparations be used as an alternative colorant to replace dyes in solvent and oil-based applications. The pigment prep is also noted to have improved durability and low-migration properties, and doesn’t require pre-dissolving.

The new line reportedly supports Clariant’s objectives to ensure that products meet international environmental, health and safety performance standards.
