New Product Announcement: Anti-Viral Interior Paint

THURSDAY, NOVEMBER 18, 2021

Global coatings company AkzoNobel recently announced the launch of its latest product: a wash and wear anti-viral interior coating.

Available through the Dulux brand, the coating expands the company’s existing interior washable paint portfolio as an improved variation. The latest form of the coating includes KidProof+ Technology and an added layer of anti-viral protection from Silver Ion Technology.

The Silver Ion Technology is reported to work against certain viruses such as the human coronavirus NL-63 virus1, while the KidProof+ Technology offers a high level of protection against tough stains, making it harder for stains to penetrate into the paint film or inhibit bacteria growth.

The coating is also noted to be low odor and low VOC and is Singapore Green label certified.

“At AkzoNobel, we are constantly on the lookout for technologies to push the boundaries in safeguarding spaces and enhancing lives through paint,” David Teng, Commercial Director SEAP at AkzoNobel Decorative Paints told reporters. “As the importance of health and wellness gains traction in a post-pandemic world, I am proud that our new Dulux Wash & Wear Anti-Viral can support that vision by protecting our consumers starting from the four walls of their homes.”

Dulux Wash & Wear Anti-Viral range comes with Colourguard Technology, which helps walls to remain vibrant for longer. There are more than 2,000 color options to choose from.
