Bids Wanted for Building Painting in Ontario
The Town of Aurora is advertising a request for tender for the painting, finishing and touch-ups on at least 14 buildings and facilities in Ontario, Canada.
The submittal date for this project is Nov. 12.
Scope of Work
This project involves the painting of town buildings and facilities, including but not limited to: Aurora’s Town Hall, Family Leisure Complex and Sport Dome, Public Library, Department of National Defense, Joint Operations Centre, Stronach Aurora Recreation Complex, Seniors Centre, Community Centre, Victoria Hall, McMahon Park Building, two fire halls and buildings addressed between 15157 and 15171 Yonge Street.
Exterior painting is scheduled to include three-coat systems consisting of epoxy and urethane on zinc-coated and hot-dip galvanized metal surfaces.
Interior painting involves a three-coat system of alkyd and latex on metal substrates; a three-coat system of alkyd and latex on painted wood surfaces; a four-coat system of satin finish, sealant and alkyd or polyurethane varnish on stained wood surfaces; a three-coat system of drywall and latex on gypsum board substrates; a three-coat system of filler and latex on exposed piping and ductwork; and a two-coat system of epoxy on steel handrails.
Surfaces are to be cleaned and prepared in accordance with standards for Solvent Cleaning (SSPC-SP 1) and Brush-Off Blast Cleaning (SSPC-SP 7/NACE No. 4).
