Contractors Needed for Water Tank Improvements
The City of Blooming Grove in Texas is currently seeking contractors for the coating of two 50,000-gallon steel ground storage tanks and one 100,000-gallon welded steel tank.
Bids are due Nov. 17.
Scope of Work
This project involves the rehabilitation of a 50,000-gallon welded steel ground storage tank located at a pump station, rehabilitation of a 100,000-gallon welded steel tank at a tower plant and the construction of a new 50,000-gallon steel ground storage tank at the same tower plant.
This project includes surface preparation of interior non-immersed ferrous metal surfaces using the standards associated with Commercial Blast-Cleaning (SSPC-SP 6/ NACE No. 3). The surface will also receive a coating system of either epoxy/epoxy or epoxy/polyurethane.
Exterior non-immersed ferrous metal surfaces shall be prepared using the standards associated with Commercial Blast Cleaning (SSPC-SP 6/ NACE No. 3). This surface will be coated with an epoxy/polyurethane or epoxy/aliphatic urethane system.
This project also includes the surface preparation of immersed ferrous metal surfaces. This surface will be prepared using the standards associated with Near White Blast-Cleaning (SSPC-SP 10/ NACE No. 2) and will also receive a two-coat system of polyamidoamine epoxy.
Included in this project is also the surface preparation of non-ferrous metal interior surfaces using the standards associated with Commercial Blast-Cleaning (SSPC-SP 6/ NACE No. 3). This surface will receive a coating system consisting of two coats of epoxy coating. For exterior surfaces, an additional finish coat of aliphatic acrylic polyurethane will be applied.
This project includes the coating of aluminum that is in contact with dissimilar materials using an epoxy/polyamide coating system. In addition, the project also includes surface preparation and coating of exposed exterior concrete using an elastomeric concrete coating system.
