Valspar Releases 12 Colors of the Year


Paints and coatings brand Valspar, from The Sherwin-Williams Company’s Consumer Brands Group, has announced its 2022 Colors of the Year.

The company says its 12 trendy, yet timeless hues were all inspired from nature and aim to bring a calm, comfortable presence to consumers’ homes.

According to reports, when forecasting the 2022 Colors of the Year, Valspar color experts observed global lifestyle trends that encompass culture, media, fashion, design, food and technology.

“Colors can power moods, energizing us with confidence, strength and curiosity, allowing us to express ourselves with color anywhere—whether it be a full room, an accent wall, trim or furniture,” said Sue Kim, Valspar Color Marketing Manager.

“Valspar’s 2022 Colors of the Year provide consumers a wide range of naturally based warm colors that will not only help calm the nerves and boost the mood, but also provide a confidence in what the future may hold.”

Valspar adds that this year’s curated collection includes a range of fresh and familiar shades that “encourages a calm balance within yourself and within your home.”

The 12 colors include:

  1. Blanched Thyme – a cool, organic green;
  2. Gilded Linen – an ultra-clean neutral;
  3. Delighted Moon – a cheerful yellow;
  4. Lilac Lane – a soft pink;
  5. Mountain River – a deep blue;
  6. Orchid Ash – a color-infused white;
  7. Grey Suit – a warm gray with hints of red undertones;
  8. Subtle Peach – a yellowish pink shade;
  9. Rustic Oak – a warm, copper-like hue;
  10. Sunset Curtains – a tinted neutral;
  11. Country Charm – a cozy, neutral yellow; and
  12. Fired Earth – a dark hue.
