IBC Issues Call for Papers


The Engineers’ Society of Western Pennsylvania has released its call for papers for its 2022 International Bridge Conference.

Currently, the conference is being billed as an in-person event to take place July 17-20, 2022, at the David L. Lawrence Convention Center in Pittsburgh. The conference is slated to feature technical sessions and exhibitors related to bridge engineering and maintenance.

“Technical Papers have always been the heart of the Conference, where attendees can watch, listen and learn about various topics of the bridge industry,” wrote the Society.

The IBC is currently accepting abstracts that address the following topics, but are not limited to: ABC; Alternate Delivery Methods; Asset Management; Bridge Demolition; Bridge Maintenance; Bridge Program Management; Bridges Constructed under P3 Process; Cable Maintenance; Cable Stayed Bridges; Contractors; Construction; Construction Engineering; Design; Design/Build; Drone Bridge Inspections; Erection Engineering Standards; Fabrication Methods; Foundations; Flood Vulnerability Assessment; High Speed Rail Bridges; Innovative Financing; Innovative Materials Applications; Information Modeling for Bridges, including Data Exchanges and 3D Bridge Design; Inspection & Analysis (including Bridge Design Pilots); Lessons Learned; Lift Bridges; Load Testing & Instrumentation; Long Span Bridges; Moveable Bridges; NBIS/NTIS Inspections; Non-Destructive Testing; Partnering; Pedestrian/Special Purpose Bridges; Railroad and Transit Bridge Management; Rehabilitation/Preservation; Rehabilitation/Preservation: Service Life Design; Rehabilitation/Preservation: Structural Health Monitoring; Restoration; Security Issues & Solutions; Segmental Concrete Bridges; Seismic Design; Software Applications; Suspension Bridges; Timber Bridges; and Tunnels & Tunnel Inspection.

The deadline to submit abstracts is Oct. 18. Accepted speakers will receive a discount on their conference registration.
