Contractor Connect Boasts Networking Activities

Technology Publishing Company’s popular hosted buyer event for the protective and marine coatings industry, Contractor Connect, is excited to share its array of high-level networking opportunities, slated for its upcoming conference.

Taking place over three days, the in-person event will bring together qualified buyers (contractors) and sellers (suppliers) for a variety of networking activities and prescheduled one-on-one meetings.

The event is slated to take place from Nov. 2-5, at the Hammock Beach Golf Resort & Spa in Palm Coast, Florida.

Recreational Activities

Having been cooped up at home over the last year and a half in the wake of COVID-19 and the resulting cancelation of its 2020 in-person Contractor Connect event, TPC is proud to announce the addition of two new networking activities for its attendees and participating sponsors.

In coming together again in 2021, participants can expect the recreational activities of golfing and deep-sea fishing.

Sponsored by PPG, the golf outing will take place at a Jack Nicklaus-designed Ocean Course, which boasts the most oceanfront holes in the entire state of Florida. While the photo-worthy views are just the beginning, participants will reportedly play six holes overlooking the Atlantic Ocean. The award-winning course is also home to a four-hole finish nicknamed “The Bear Claw”—a challenge consistent with a memorable experience.

For those heading out into deeper waters, this year’s fishing experience (sponsored by Graco), will take anglers out to test their skills in catching a wide variety of deep-sea fish, such as tuna, sharks, swordfish and marlin, just to name a few. These types of sport fish aren’t found closer to shore, as they need open and deeper waters to feed. Skilled and beginner fishing enthusiasts alike may very well end up with a great story to share back home.

New this year, participants will have the option of attending a kayak ecological tour by the Ripple Effect Adventure Outfitters. This experience is slated to immerse attendees in the fragile ecosystem of Pellicer Creek and its abundant wildlife. Pellicer Creek, a state canoe trail and Outstanding Florida Waterway, begins in wetlands in Flagler County. Fed by numerous smaller creeks, it flows through Faver-Dykes State Park, meandering through salt marshes bordered by hardwood forests. Pellicer Creek eventually enters the magnificent lagoon at the Matanzas River, where it meets the Atlantic Ocean.

On the tour, kayakers will enjoy all types of wildlife, from bald eagles to otters, dolphins, manatees, as well as many other bird species, too. Ripple Effect Adventure Outfitters’ guides are reported to be professional kayakers and expert naturalists.

Within the park, visitors can also enjoy a variety of plant communities: pinelands, hammocks, swamps, bayheads, and marshes. The setting offers the unhurried visitor a chance to relax, reflect, explore, discover and wonder.

And finally, TPC is proud to announce its biggest networking activity yet: the NASCAR Driving Experience. Sponsored by The Sherwin-Williams Company, this experience (limited to 56 participants) will give attendees with “the need for speed” the opportunity to drive a NASCAR race car by themselves on the Daytona International Speedway—home of the Daytona 500, the most prestigious race in NASCAR. Daytona International Speedway features multiple layouts including the large primary 2.5-mile tri-oval speedway with 31 degrees of banking in the turns.

The full driving experience includes:

  • 6-8 laps around the Daytona Speedway; and
  • Photos in race suit and car.

In addition to the featured networking events, Contractor Connect will also be hosting an Opening Reception and Icebreaker (PPG), Signature Lunches (LMCI), a Casino night (Tnemec) and a Cigar Bar (Corr-Ze) and more.

This year's Contractor Connect will invite a limited number of industrial painting contractors with qualified buying power to connect with sponsoring suppliers who provide the products and services they need—all in the beautiful ocean-side setting of a world-class resort.

To be considered, interested contracting companies must fill out the attached application here.

A list of previous contractor participants can be viewed here.

One of the key attributes of Contractor Connect is the intimacy of the event. Suppliers in the protective and marine coatings industry are offered exclusive opportunities to participate as sponsors, building relationships with current and prospective customers in fun and productive ways.

Interested suppliers will have the option of becoming a Platinum or Silver sponsor. Details regarding these supporting sponsorships and their benefits can be found here. Additional ancillary sponsorship opportunities (exclusive for Platinum and Silver sponsors until Sept. 1) can be found here. Following the September deadline, any unreserved ancillary sponsorship opportunities will be made available to sustaining sponsors—companies that are unable to send representatives to the event.

Schedule and Updates

While the conference’s agenda and speakers will be released in the upcoming weeks, contractors who are registered or considering attending can stay updated by visiting the event’s homepage.
