New Product Announcement: Concrete Spraying Vehicle

TUESDAY, JULY 20, 2021

Last month, mining utility vehicle manufacturer Getman Corporation announced the launch of its latest concrete spraying vehicle, ProShot.

According to Getman, the ProShot vehicle offers “unparalleled coverage” for concrete spraying in underground mines and represents the company’s “focus on solutions that fulfil customer expectations and meet the demands of underground mining.”

“The new ProShot represents our resolve to meet changing customer needs for product development,” said Getman Product Manager Christopher Warner. “Our new design meets the challenge of maintaining a balance between a maneuverable chassis size and a layout that facilitates safe and easy daily maintenance.”

Featuring a new interior touchscreen display and three exterior screens, operators are now better equipped to safely control the flow of concrete from inside or outside of the vehicle. The in-cab 10-inch touchscreen provides information about the machine to the operator and included Bluetooth and Wi-Fi capabilities. Software revisions are also available via the operator's smartphone.

The Getman dosing management system provides real time spray process information and data acquisition, which is visible on three seven-inch exterior displays. The chemical additive dose may be changed via remote, with five preset rates and the changes visible on process displays.

Other cited points of interest on the new machine include:

  • Boom mounted on centerline of chassis with a telescopic boom extension of 2.5 meters (8.2 feet);
  • Operator cabin mounted mid-ship to reduce exposure to rebound and provide excellent operator visibility;
  • Getman nozzle assembly easily disassembles for cleaning without using special tools;
  • A 700-liter (185-gallon) chemical tank volume;
  • A 250-liter (66-gallon) fuel tank capacity; and
  • A spray boom coverage envelope of 5.5 m x 8.6 m x 2.5 m (18 ft x 28.25 ft x 27 ft)

“ProShot is a fresh idea—a concrete sprayer built using the knowledge of shotcrete experts and experienced maintenance personnel,” said Ground Support Product Manager Rick Kraft. “It’s designed for the ultra-tough rigors of underground mining and tunnelling. Based on a common-sense approach that offers excellent user interface and accessibility, ProShot is a sprayer that’s intuitive to operate and easy to maintain. Even inexperienced technicians can apply consistent, high quality layers of sprayed concrete.”
