Webinar Archive: New Blast Abrasives

Although Technology Publishing Co. has wrapped up PaintSquare Connect, its signature virtual event for the protective and commercial coatings industries, an archived library of its featured webinars remains available to registrants until May 31.

Over the course of the next few months, PaintSquare Daily News will be highlighting some of those webinars, reminding readers to experience these educational presentations before they’re gone.

The event was co-sponsored by Sherwin-Williams, Carboline, Finishing First (Powered by LMCI) and McBrayer & Associates.

A New Category of Blast Abrasives

Stephen Ricci and Jacob Vaillancourt, of 10X Engineered Materials, presented “A New Category of Blast Abrasives,” on Tuesday, Nov. 10, 2020, as part of the conference’s surface preparation track.

In their webinar, the duo introduced a new category of abrasive blasting media comprised of ultra-safe, ultra-strong mineral alloy particles and explained how the particles are formed into a unique material matrix that yields breakthrough speed and surface quality with no health or environmental risks (including no free silica and no beryllium).

The engineers also presented field results in both contractor maintenance and specialty applications to demonstrate what is achievable with an engineered abrasive and how the results translate into higher financial returns. Additional benefits include increased blast hold time from substantially delayed rust bloom, low to no particle embedment, enhanced coating performance, and low dust for increased visibility.
