New Product Announcement: Electrocoat Primer
Global liquid and powder coatings supplier Axalta Coating Systems Ltd. recently announced the launch of a new environmentally-responsible, cathodic tin-free electrocoat primer to its Industrial Coatings portfolio.
According to the announcement, AquaECTM 3500 EP has been developed as the next generation, tin-free electrocoat Axalta technology and is formulated for automotive parts and accessories, agriculture, construction and earthmoving equipment (ACE) and general industry sectors, as well as industrial job coaters.
“Our customers know our products meet their high standards, and new products are no exception,” said Frank Wiefling, E-coat Product Manager for Axalta’s Industrial Coatings business in Europe, the Middle East and Africa. “Axalta is committed to delivering solutions that answer the growing needs of our customers and the market. We developed AquaECTM 3500 EP to meet increasingly complex market demands for coatings on varying substrates, part designs and pre-treatment options.”
The new electrocoat primer has a low curing temperature of 150 C (350 F), which aims to offer energy savings, as well as good substrate adhesion, in addition to chemical and corrosion resistance. The new coating is also a part of a modular mixing concept that creates additional cost-effective solutions.
“AquaECTM 3500 EP answers the demand from our customers for highly productive and effective coating solutions that offer superior edge corrosion protection and meet all environmental constraints, such as REACH compliance. Our products are developed to help our customers meet the daily coating challenges they face,” concluded Wiefling.
