New Product Announcement: Concrete Varnish

Portuguese paint company CIN recently announced in an emailed press release that it has launched a new product for the protection and decoration of porous concrete surfaces, cement mortars, stone and brick masonry.

BETOCIN WB, a concrete varnish, was reportedly tested according to the EN 1504-2:2004 standard and achieved a CE marking as an “Acrylic varnish for the protection against ingress, humidity control and increasing resistivity.”

According to the company, the product was formulated with inorganic colorants and with a low-CO2 permeability, with the aim to give the water-based acrylic varnish a robust exterior performance.

BETOCIN WB aims to highlight the texture of the surface where it is applied resulting in decorative effects and protection against water ingress while still allowing the surface to breathe.

The company notes that BETOCIN WB has a limited contribution to fire rating (B-s1,d0; EN 13501-1) and the highest classification (A+) in "Indoor air quality" according to French regulation.

BETOCIN WB is available in a semi-matt finish in a 10-color palette providing colorful choices as well as a transparent and more natural finish.
