Abstract Submissions Open for Waterborne Symposium


Abstract submissions are now being accepted for the 48th Annual International Waterborne, High-Solids and Powder Coatings Symposium, slated to be held Feb. 7-12, 2021.

While there are dates set aside of the event, officials began the submission announcement with a statement on the COVID-19 pandemic:

“Due to the ongoing and continually changing nature of the COVID-19 pandemic, we are considering many options for the 2021 Waterborne Symposium. These include changing the location, potentially holding a virtual or hybrid event, among many other possibilities. We welcome your abstract submission and appreciate your patience as we work through the many options to settle on the best solution for Waterborne 2021! We will be in close contact with you regarding our 2021 format and dates.”

The symposium invites papers pertaining to new and emerging technologies related to materials, processes, production, characterization, application and markets in the field of surface coatings. Suggested topics include (but are not limited to):

  • Waterborne;
  • High Solids;
  • Nano (structure or technology);
  • Emulsion;
  • Additives;
  • Corrosion;
  • UV;
  • Pigments;
  • Powder Coatings; and
  • General Session.

The symposium notes that:

  • Papers will be selected based on the submitted abstracts;
  • All speakers must submit a paper for publication in the annual proceedings book;
  • Papers principally commercial in nature will not be accepted; and
  • Papers must be original and represent recent advancements in coatings science or related disciplines.
