Elevation Awards Spotlight: Meow Wolf Installation

FRIDAY, AUGUST 28, 2020

With the extended deadline just announced for the third annual Elevation Awards, we will be counting down to the deadline (Oct. 9) with featured selections of this year’s nominees, giving readers a glimpse of the competition. Below is a selected nominee in the “Air Barriers + Moisture Management” category.

Project: Meow Wolf Installation

Arts production company Meow Wolf, from Santa Fe, is in the process of taking its exhibits on the road by building multiple locations for its immersive, multimedia experiences. One such location is in Denver, where its project building sits in the middle of various traffic corridors.

Revesco Properties and Turner Construction turned to VaproShield for the 25,000-foot-structure’s air and moisture management.

With a matte-black reveal and UV-stability, RevealShield SA Self-Adhered proved to be ideally suited for the open-joint fiber cement cladding. RevealShield SA’s pressure-sensitive adhesive bonded directly to the substrate and allowed one-pass installation with no down time.

Rough openings were flashed with RevealFlashing SA Self-Adhered and VaproBond—both of which reduced installation time and eliminated the need for untested outside components.

The prefabricated panels were easily installed in the busy urban construction site. Able to stand exposure for up to 12 months prior to cladding, RevealShield facilitated the complex phase-construction project, which is slated for completion by 2021.
