MD Tank Rehab Out for Bid

Anne Arundel County is currently seeking contractors to rehabilitate the Crofton Meadows Elevated Water Tank in Crofton, Maryland.

Bids are due Sept. 1.

The cost estimate is $1-3 million.

Scope of Work

This project involves cleaning and recoating the interior and exterior surfaces of an existing 1 million-gallon elevated water storage tank.

Contractors will abrasive blast clean the interior wet surfaces to White Metal standards (SSPC-SP 5). The interior wet surfaces will be coated with a zinc-rich urethane primer and a 100%-solids epoxy finish.

The interior dry surfaces will be abrasive blast cleaned to Near White Metal standards (SSPC-SP 10) and coated with a zinc-rich urethane primer and two-coat epoxy system.

The exterior of the tank will be abrasive blast cleaned to Near White Metal standards (SSPC-SP 10) and coated with a zinc-rich urethane primer, urethane intermediate and fluoropolymer-polyurethane finish.

The owner-approved coating manufacturer is Tnemec.
