TX Elevated Tank Rehab Project Out for Bid
The Harris County Water Control and Improvement District No. 21 is currently seeking contractors to rehabilitate and recoat an elevated tank in Channelview, Texas.
Bids are due June 23.
The cost estimate is $450,000.
Scope of Work
This project involves rehabilitating and recoating the interior and exterior surfaces of an existing 400,000-gallon elevated water storage tank.
Contractors will abrasive blast clean the interior surfaces to Near White standards (SSPC-SP 10/NACE No. 2). The interior surfaces will then be coated with a zinc-rich primer and two coat epoxy system.
The exterior surfaces will be abrasive blast cleaned to Near White standards (SSPC-SP 10/NACE No. 2). The exterior surfaces will then be coated with a zinc-rich primer, epoxy intermediate, polyurethane intermediate and fluoropolymer finish.
A containment system is required.
Owner-approved coating manufacturers include Carboline and Tnemec.
