ASTM International Cancels May Meetings

Late last month, ASTM International announced that all previously scheduled in-person May standards development meetings have been canceled.

The decision, which followed the cancellations of April meetings, came based on the following factors, according to the organization:

  • Continued review of information and recommendations from the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, the World Health Organization and other governmental bodies;
  • Input from ASTM International members whose organizations are increasingly concerned with travel; and
  • Monitoring the expanding trajectory of the coronavirus.

ASTM notes that it is contacting committee leaders to plan alternative route for conducting committee business.

ASTM is still following developments to assess the status of its June meetings, which are currently scheduled for June 28 – July 3.
