PA Tank Project Awarded
The Beaver Falls Municipal Authority has awarded a contract in the amount of $1,027,477 for the rehabilitation and coating of the Freedom and 45th Street Water Tanks to Worldwide Industries Corporation of Butler, Pennsylvania.
Worldwide Industries Corporation was the lowest of eight apparent bidders.

Scope of Work
This project involves cleaning and recoating the interior and exterior surfaces of 1.25 million- and 1 million-gallon standpipe tanks.
Contractors will abrasive blast clean the interior surfaces to Near White standards (SSPC-SP 10/NACE No. 2). The interior surfaces will then be coated with a zinc-rich primer and epoxy system.
The exterior surfaces will be abrasive blast cleaned to Commercial standards (SSPC-SP 6/NACE No. 3). The exterior surfaces will then be coated with a zinc-rich primer, epoxy intermediate, and polyurethane finish.
The proposed work also includes coating the valve vault surfaces with a zinc-rich primer and epoxy system. The concrete foundation will be coated with an epoxy-polyurethane system.
The existing coating system contains lead-based paint. Containment is required.
The owner-approved coating manufacturers include Tnemec, Sherwin-Williams and Induron.
