Selection Guide Updated to Match WJTA Coding
High-pressure hose manufacturer SPIR STAR Ltd. (Houston) recently announced via an emailed press release a new flex lance selection guide, in a move to stay in pace with best practices safety standard.
“We get calls all the time from customers asking us to update the poster,” said Jerry Carter, vice president of sales at SPIR STAR. “Because the end fittings and hoses are actual size, it gets used a lot in the field for a quick reference.”
Lance Selection Guide
According to SPIR STAR, hydroblasting often combines high-pressure equipment operating in different environments with time constraints. The WaterJet Technology Association recommends color coding high-pressure flex lances in order to create a standard to identify the working pressure of hose assemblies.
The color codes range from 10K to 55K, each with a specific color to help identify the hose’s pressure rating:
