MegaRust Issues Call for Papers

MegaRust 2019, the American Society of Naval Engineers’ annual Naval corrosion conference, to be held May 14-16, at the Portsmouth-Norfolk Waterfront Hotel, in Portsmouth, Virginia, recently issued a call for papers, with both presentation and paper submissions welcome.

Subjects that fall under this year’s conference theme, which focuses on providing support for those responsible for corrosion control, include:

  • New corrosion control methods;
  • Successful application of new approved products;
  • Deckplate quality assurance—what can be expected from the sailors;
  • Surface preparation technology and techniques; and
  • Corrosion control plan for LCS and other aluminum ships, among others.

Abstracts are due Feb. 25, and those accepted will be notified March 25. Drafts of presentations and papers are due April 22, with final versions due May 3.

Abstracts should be one to two pages, and include essential information such as the outline of key points, author biographies and whether it is a presentation or something that will be a formal technical paper for potential publication.

Fully developed presentations, with the technical paper being optional, will be requested if a proposed abstract is selected.
