APV, Arkema Team Up for Education Events
Coatings companies APV Engineered Coatings and Arkema Inc. announced late last week in an emailed press released that they will be partnering up for a handful of educational opportunities in November.
Many of the opportunities center around APV’s high-performance restoration coatings, offering architects and engineering specifiers the opportunity to learn more about the products.
“Exterior restoration is more than just painting,” said Erin Brown-Neff, Director of Marketing and Business Development for APV.
“It’s important for professional specifiers of coating products for exterior restoration projects to understand the chemistry of the formulations they specify and how it impacts the product’s ability to perform over time.”
APV and Arkema will reportedly meet one-on-one with architects at the Arc|US America’s Leading Architects Forum, Nov. 1-4 in Carlsbad, California. Meetings will focus on how NeverFade with Kynar Aquatec Coatings can reportedly extend the lifecycle of building exteriors, as well as raising awareness of the support APV offers during the entire exterior restoration process—from coating material specification through application.
The programs provide accessible, downloadable information through a portal that lets users read up on job-specific needs, according to the companies.
On Nov. 13, APV will be co-sponsoring an event hosted by Arkema—the University of Kynar program—which will be held at Atlas Material Testing Technology LLC in Miami.
Attendees at the invitation-only event will have an opportunity learn about Kynar PVDF resin chemistry, as well as the key differences between NeverFade and other high-performance architectural coatings.
Attendees will also visit Atlas’ natural weathering testing site to weathering studies that have spanned over 50 years of exposure in the extreme humidity, temperature and UV conditions of southern Florida.
“We look forward to this annual event,” said Ron Partridge, Sr. Account Manager Fluoropolymer Coatings NA, Arkema Inc.
“It gives us an opportunity to demonstrate the true service life of Kynar Aquatec and NeverFade Coatings as well as educate architects, engineers, specifiers and contractors about how loading levels of key polymers impact a coating’s ability to perform in subtropical outdoor environments.”
The two companies will also be partnering up on lunch-and-learn sessions that are designed to provide AIA credits for education in PVDF technology. You can register for a session here.
