Contractor Sought for TX Water Tank Rehab

Prairie View A&M University is seeking contractors for the rehabilitation of a ground storage tank in Prairie View, Texas.

Bids are due Oct. 9. 

Scope of Work

This project involves repairing and recoating the interior and exterior surfaces of an existing 1 million-gallon ground water storage tank. 

Contractors will abrasive blast-clean wet interior tank surfaces to Near White standards (SSPC-SP 10/NACE No. 2). Dry interior tank surfaces will be abrasive blast-cleaned to Commercial standards (SSPC-SP 6/NACE No. 3). The interior surfaces will then be coated with a zinc-rich primer and two-coat epoxy system.

Exterior tank surfaces will be abrasive blast-cleaned to Commercial standards (SSPC-SP 6/NACE No.3) and coated with a zinc-rich primer, epoxy intermediate, polyurethane intermediate and fluoropolymer finish.

A containment system and dehumidification are required.

The owner-approved coating manufacturer is Tnemec or an approved equal.
