Contractor Sought for CO Tank Rehabs
The City of Golden is seeking contractors to recoat the 6200 South Tank and 6400 Tank, in Golden, Colorado.
Bids are due Oct. 3. A mandatory pre-bid meeting will be held Sept. 19.
Scope of Work
This project involves cleaning and recoating the interior and exterior surfaces of two existing ground water storage tanks.
Contractors will abrasive blast-clean interior tank surfaces to Near White standards (SSPC-SP 10/NACE No. 2). The interior surfaces will then be coated with a zinc-rich primer, epoxy stripe coat and urethane finish.
Exterior tank surfaces will be abrasive blast-cleaned to Near White standards (SSPC-SP 10/NACE No. 2) and coated with a zinc-rich primer, acrylic-polyurethane intermediate and fluoropolymer finish.
The existing coatings on the 6200 South Tank contain lead. Containment is required.
The owner-approved coating manufacturer is Tnemec, or an approved equal.
