TUESDAY, AUGUST 21, 2018

Philadelphia-based company Axalta Coating Systems recently announced the launch of its new portfolio of decorative coatings, designed to protect and enhance the aesthetics of glass and ceramic surfaces.

Eleglas, the company’s “official expansion into the glass coatings market,” includes a water-based polymer anti-shatter technology, which is engineered to provide a protective layer that helps keep glass and ceramic fragments intact in the event of a break, according to the company.

“This revolutionary portfolio of products, including our anti-shatter technology, has the potential to set businesses in diverse industries apart from their competitors,” said Eric Kwasnicka, Product Manager, Industrial Coatings.

“We look forward to working with customers to create new opportunities and dimensions for their glass and ceramic products.”

The company notes that the coatings are available in a variety of colors, finishes and specifications and are designed to protect against shattering, chemicals, abrasions, scratches and wear-and-tear from washing.
