MO Elevated Tank Rehab Out for Bid

The Jefferson County Public Water Supply District No. 3 is seeking contractors for the rehabilitation of the West Rock Creek Rd. Elevated Water Storage Tank, in Arnold, Missouri.

Bids are due July 18.

Scope of Work

This project involves rehabilitating the interior and exterior surfaces of an existing 250,000-gallon elevated water storage tank.

Contractors will abrasive blast-clean interior tank surfaces to Near White standards (SSPC-SP 10/NACE NO. 2). The interior will then be coated with a zinc-rich primer and two-coat epoxy system. 

The exterior tank surfaces will be abrasive blast-cleaned to Commercial standards (SSPC-SP 6/NACE NO.3) and coated with a zinc-rich primer, acrylic-polyurethane intermediate and fluoropolymer finish. The owner-approved coating manufacturer is Tnemec.  

The work includes lead paint abatement. Containment and disposal of debris is required. A NACE-certified inspector is required as well.

A 15-year warranty is available for the exterior finish coat for the fluoropolymer/fluorourethane coating system. A 10-year warranty is available for the interior finish coat for the polyamide epoxy coating system. The warranty must be approved by Tnemec prior to application.
