New Polyaspartic DTM Coating Released

TUESDAY, JUNE 26, 2018

Coatings manufacturer Carboline (St. Louis) announced last week the release of a new polyaspartic coating that boasts a quick dry time.

According to the company, Caboquick 200 is a high-build, one-coat, quick-drying polyaspartic that can be applied directly to metal and dry to handle within one to two hours.

The coating is also easy to apply, the company adds, and is ready to spray without thinning.

"In addition to its fast dry to handle time, Carboquick 200 also provides very good color and gloss retention in UV exposure, exceeding the long-term weatherability requirements of SSPC Coating Specification No. 39 Level 3A," said Jeff Anderson, Vice President, Research, Development and Innovation.

According to Carboline, one coat applied DTM at 6-10 mils dry film thickness provides corrosion protection of ISO 12944-6 C 3 High, eliminating the need for a typical primer or intermediate coats, saving time and money.
