Aggreko Acquires Australian Generator Firm

TUESDAY, JUNE 12, 2018

Aggreko, a Glasgow-based global provider of portable power-generation and climate-control solutions, announced earlier this month that it has acquired Australian rental company Generator Hire Service in a deal worth 2.7 million pounds ($3.6 million).

Pending certain closing conditions, GHS will become part of Aggreko Generator Rentals Pty Ltd., an Australian subsidiary of Aggreko’s global firm. Aggreko says the move is part of an expansion in the Australian market.

GHS offers truck-mounted generators and custom-built generator and lighting solutions for industry and construction as well as television and film production and concerts.

Aggreko, which operates in 80 countries, supplies dessicant dehumidifiers and other climate-control equipment in addition to generators. The company works with building and painting contractors as well as oil and gas companies, power companies and producers of events that require temporary power sources.

U.S. climate-control supplier Dryco became an Aggreko company in 2016.
