WEDNESDAY, FEBRUARY 21, 2018

Global coatings company AkzoNobel (Amsterdam) has launched a metallic powder coating that aims to provide a cost-saving alternative to chrome plating.

The product, Interpon Cr, was created to appeal to meet demand for a bright, durable coating that gives a creative edge to coated interior fixtures, according to the company.

“We're constantly striving to develop better and more sustainable products for our customers, and Interpon Cr is the latest example of creating a novel product that gives customers another option to create standout, metallic coatings at a relevant price point,” said George Hotchkiss, Industrial Market Segment Manager for Powder Coatings

The system includes an easily applied powder coating, the high-reflectance metallic basecoat and the protection of the specifically designed clear topcoat, the company says, touting stain resistance and coating hardness as well.
