According to Entropy Resins, the company was among the first to formulate its epoxy products to maximize bio-based, renewable ingredients, and also reportedly pioneered the use of the USDA’s BioPreferred labeling program to quantify rapidly renewable feedstocks.
Entropy Resins also implemented Life Cycle Analysis to allow customers to evaluate the benefits of bio-based epoxy systems in their products and how those products impact the environment.
“Over the last decade we have admired [Epoxy Resins] as they grew from a great idea into a best-in-class bio-based epoxy brand,” said Alan Gurski, president and CEO of Gougeon Brothers Inc. “We share their values of high-performance products and long-term sustainability. Like us, they are energetically customer focused. We look forward to providing the needed infrastructure and customer support to take Entropy Resins to the next level.”
Entropy Resins was founded in 2010 by brothers Desi and Rey Banatao, and has since established itself in sporting goods, advanced composites and building materials by reducing the carbon footprint through using renewable and sustainable feedstocks.
Gougeon Brothers Inc. was established in 1969 and has become known for its West System and Pro-Set epoxy products. Gougeon specializes in epoxies used in boatbuilding, high-tech aircraft and spacecraft.
