The latest edition of Durability + Design, featuring looks back on 2017, glimpses to the year ahead and discussions on coating technology, is available online.

Inside the Issue

Editor Amy Woodall opens the issue with an industry roundtable, where she spoke to a number of executives representing a variety of segments of the architectural coatings industry about their thoughts on the state of the industry, influencing factors, challenges, opportunities and trends.

The panel included:

The magazine also reflects on 2017 by rounding up the winners of our inaugural Elevation Awards. D+D launched its Elevation Awards competition to honor architects, interior designers, painting contractors, decorative artisans, manufacturers and suppliers. Our call for nominations brought in a range of projects in aesthetic and technical categories spanning residential exteriors and public buildings to floor coatings and air barriers.

Bill McHugh, of the Firestop Contractors International Association, talks about the complexities of the critical discipline of fire resistance in the latest issue of D+D.

D+D also looks ahead to 2018 color forecast predictions from the companies such as PPG, Behr, Sherwin-Williams, Dunn-Edwards and AkzoNobel.

On the technical front, Bill McHugh, of the Firestop Contractors International Association, talks about the complexities of the critical discipline of fire resistance and KTA-Tator Inc. President Ken Trimber solves the problem of proving paint has faded.
