D+D Issues Call for Participants for 2018 Conference
Durability + Design is seeking presenters and panelists in its two-day Material Select + Connect Conference: Coatings and Treatments for Concrete Floors, Low-Slope Roofs and Architectural Metal, to be held May 22-23, 2018, in Chicago.
The conference is designed to help facility owners, painting contractors and specifiers select coatings for floors, low-slope roofs and architectural metal. It will feature presentations of papers on specifying practices and on successful projects, panel discussions about specific coating brands, and one-on-one discussion sessions between users and suppliers about solutions to specific problems.
The “Select” portion of the conference will take place in two different tracks on Day 1.
One track will focus on the use of resinous coatings and polishing/decorative treatments for concrete floors. It will include presentations on case histories and specifying practices in the morning session, and will be followed by an afternoon panel discussion in which suppliers will describe the capabilities of their coating and polishing/decorative treatment brands to achieve success in several scenarios of use involving specific substrate and exposure conditions.
The second track will cover coatings for exposed structural steel and low-slope roofs. In the morning session, specifying practices and case histories will be presented. In the afternoon session, two panels of coating suppliers will defend the use of their specific brands. One panel will recommend coating brands for exposed structural steel in several scenarios of use; the other panel will do the same for coatings on low-slope roofs.
The “Connect” portion of the conference will take place on Day 2.
The day will be comprised of user (specifier, owner and contractor) meetings with suppliers that sponsor the event. Each user will have scheduled, 20-minute meetings with 10-12 supplier companies. Users will have the opportunity to describe their coating needs, and suppliers will respond with potential solutions.
Supplier companies wishing to participate in one of the three panels should send an expression of interest to conference organizer Harold Hower (email@example.com). Those who wish to make presentations on selecting or specifying coatings, or on case histories of successful use, should submit abstracts of 100-250 words.
