Free Webinar: Moisture Testing


Durability + Design will host a free webinar on Wednesday (Nov. 8) entitled: “Achieving Quality in Architectural Coatings Work: SSPC Moisture Testing and Coating Pinhole Guides.”

KTA-Tator Inc. President Ken Trimber will review a new SSPC Technology Guide for detecting the presence of moisture in building walls, and a new SSPC Standard for the evaluation of pinholes in coatings applied to concrete and masonry substrates.

Learning Objectives

  • Identify five methods for determining the presence of moisture in wall assemblies;
  • Compare the depth of moisture detection for each of the methods and reporting units;
  • Explain the recommended frequencies for moisture testing; and
  • Explain the classifications of pinholes and explain the pinhole examination and classification process.

About the Presenter

Trimber is the President of KTA-Tator, Inc. Mr. Trimber has over 40 years of experience in the industrial painting field. He holds a BS from the Indiana University of Pennsylvania, is a NACE Certified Coating Inspector and an SSPC Protective Coatings Specialist. He is a Past President of SSPC, is a member of the Standards Review Committee, and is Chairman of the SSPC Commercial Coatings Committee, SSPC Surface Preparation Committee and the SSPC Containment Task Group. He is a Past Chairman of ASTM D1 on Paints and Related Coatings, Materials and Applications, and authored The Industrial Lead Paint Removal Handbook.
