Contractors Sought for 2 MG Elevated Tank Rehab

The County of Anne Arundel is seeking contractors for rehabilitating the Jessup Elevated Water Storage Tank in Jessup, Maryland. 
 
The estimated cost range for the project is $2-3 million. 
 
Bids are due Nov.14. 
 
Scope of Work
 
This project involves rehabilitating an existing 2 MG elevated water storage tank. 
 

Contractors will oversee abrasive blast-cleaning of the dry interior tank surfaces to a Near White finish (SSPC-SP 10) before applying a zinc-rich urethane primer and epoxy intermediate and finish coats. The wet interior tank surfaces will be abrasive blast-cleaned to a White Metal finish (SSPC-SP 5) and also coated with a zinc-rich urethane primer and epoxy intermediate and finish coats. 

Exterior steel surfaces will be abrasive blast-cleaned to a Near White finish (SSPC-SP 10) prior to receiving a zinc-rich urethane primer, epoxy and acrylic polyurethane intermediate coats and a fluoropolymer finish. The owner-approved manufacturer specified for all surfaces is Tnemec.
 
Containment and lead abatement will be required. 
 
Contractors will also replace the existing interior cathodic protection system as part of the tank rehab.
