SSPC 2018 Registration Open


Registration is now open for SSPC 2018 featuring Greencoat, to be held Jan. 15-18 at the Ernest N. Morial Convention Center in New Orleans.

The annual international conference of SSPC: The Society for Protective Coatings will feature more than 100 speakers from throughout the protective and marine coatings industry. The technical program is slated to feature sessions including: 

  • "Updating ASTM D7091: The Standard Practice for Coating Thickness Measurement,” by David Barnes, Elcometer;
  • “Preventing Crevice Corrosion in New and Existing Steel Structures,” by Eric Shoyer, Elzly Technology Corp.;
  • “The Walt Whitman Bridge Painting Project: A Case Study for the Skills Needed by the Contractor and Engineer,” by Kevin Keith, Johnson, Mirmiran, & Thompson Inc. (JMT); and David Hatherill, Corcon Inc.;
  • “Impact of Coating Systems on the Technology Required to Sustain US Air Force Systems,” by Greg Shoales, U.S. Air Force Academy; and
  • “The History of Protective Coatings in Nuclear Power Plants,” by Jon R. Cavallo, Jon R. Cavallo, PE LLC.

Other highlights of the conference will include the annual SSPC awards lunch, honoring individuals and companies for their work in the past year and over their lifetime; a poster session for students to exhibit their work related to coatings technology; and SSPC training courses.

SSPC 2018 will also feature an exhibition Jan. 16-18, featuring suppliers and other exhibitors from throughout the industry.
