New Guide Published for Fluropolymer Coatings

THURSDAY, SEPTEMBER 14, 2017

Two new guide specifications have been released by Arkema Technical Polymers for field-applied fluoropolymer coatings for cool roof and facade restoration applications.

Both guide specifications were created according to the format provided by the Construction Specifications Institute, which splits the guide into three parts.

Each 14-page booklet provides easily accessible detailing on the selection and specification of Kynar Aquatec PVDF emulsion–based architectural coatings, and how to evaluate a coating system to meet a project's design goals.

Section one covers the selection of a coating system based on industry standards (such as ASTM and LEED), with section two going into details on sustainable design and the application and performance of Kynar Aquatec coatings products. The third and final section reviews the best application practices for Kynar Aquatec coatings, including visual inspection, surface preparation, quality control and cleaning.

“These new guide specifications on field-applied fluoropolymer coatings offer specifiable differences that contribute to a cool roof or metal restoration project’s long life, durability, and sustainability,” said Vince Casmirri, Regional Marketing Manager for Technical Polymers at Arkema Inc.

“With a broad portfolio of Kynar Aquatec technologies, backed by our technical support teams, Arkema is strongly positioned to help specifiers select the best architectural coating solution for their specific projects.”
