Material Selection Conference Profile: David de Sola

TUESDAY, SEPTEMBER 5, 2017

Durability + Design is set to launch its inaugural Material Selection Conference, a one-day seminar on Tuesday, Sept. 26, at the Hyatt Regency Pittsburgh International Airport in Pittsburgh. Be sure to register here.

With four workshop sessions and two discussion panels, the conference will feature several professionals in the field who will be helping owners, architects, contractors and coating manufacturers to determine the effect of coating system and liquid-applied air barrier design on building performance, with a focus on the capability of coatings to manage moisture intrusion into exterior walls, and of liquid-applied air barriers to limit heat, air, and moisture transport through walls.

David de Sola, of 3iVE LLC, will close out the day with the last session, “Quality Assurance and Installation Requirements for Liquid-Applied Air Barriers.” He will also moderate the afternoon panel discussion, “Fluid-Applied Air Barriers Product and Installation Considerations.”

“Air barriers are playing a growing role in new buildings in terms of controlling energy use and helping to improve indoor air quality and environmental separation,” de Sola said.

“I’m looking forward to highlighting the state of the industry with respect to materials as well as design and field considerations, and shedding some light on this typically hidden-away performance layer.”
