Webinar Illuminates SSPC-PA 2
Measuring dry coating thickness according to SSPC-PA 2 will be the topic of a free webinar presented by KTA-Tator’s Bill Corbett next Wednesday, July 19, on PaintSquare.com.
“Using SSPC-PA 2 Effectively” will summarize and explain the standard, which is subtitled “Measurement of Dry Coating Thickness with Magnetic Gages.” Corbett, Chief Operations Officer for KTA-Tator, will discuss verifying the accuracy of a gage, measuring dry film thickness with Type 1 and Type 2 gages, and determining if film thickness in a given area conforms with the maximum and minimum levels specified.
The free webinar will take place at from 11 a.m. to noon Eastern time (8-9 a.m. Pacific). It is sponsored by DeFelsko Inspection Instruments. Participants are eligible to receive credit from SSPC.
About the Presenter
Corbett has decades of experience, having spent 38 years at KTA-Tator. He is an SSPC Certified Protective Coatings Specialist, an SSPC Level 3 Certified Protective Coatings Inspector and a Level 2 Certified Bridge Coatings Inspector, as well as a NACE Level 3 Certified Coating Inspector.
Corbett received SSPC’s Coating Education Award in 2006, the John D. Keane Award of Merit in 2011 and, most recently, was bestowed the President’s Lecture Series Award at SSPC 2017 for his paper, “Too Deep or Too Shallow: Can Surface Profile Be Changed by Additional Blast Cleaning?”
