Aerosol Sprays Mend Textured Walls, Ceilings

WEDNESDAY, MAY 17, 2017

Paints and coatings manufacturer Rust-Oleum recently announced the launch of its Zinsser Aerosol Texture Program, which the Vernon Hills, Illinois-based company says gives homeowners and professionals a solution for repairing textured interior walls and ceilings.

“The full aerosol line returns textured surfaces back to their original condition without any noticeable repair spots,” Melanie Delcore, the primers and specialty coatings brand manager at Rust-Oleum, said in a press release. “These products offer fast dry times, easy use and a no-clog guarantee.”

Choice of Sprays

The new products are:

  • Zinsser Orange Peel Texture, a spray that repairs damaged orange peel on interior walls. It’s available in fine and medium finishes, and water-based and oil-based formulas. Rust-Oleum says the product blends with most orange-peel textures.

  • Zinsser Knockdown Texture, a water-based spray that deploys a knockdown texture to fix interior walls. The product is available in light and heavy finishes, which works with most knockdown textures. The company adds that after the product is applied, there’s a one- to two-minute wait time before the texture can be lightly flattened with a wide-blade putty knife.

  • Zinsser Ceiling Popcorn Texture, a water-based aerosol that repairs popcorn ceilings. Rust-oleum notes the vertical-spray product, which was designed with a no-clog tip, provides a consistent spray pattern during application.
