Firm Introduces Large-Format Laser Cleaner

MONDAY, APRIL 10, 2017

Laser-based material processing firm Fonon Corporation (Orlando, Florida) has unveiled a multifaceted product developed for surface preparation and cleaning, as well as paint removal.

CleanTech Titan is Fonon’s latest industrial-grade entry in its Laser Photonics brand. The company says Titan’s stationary flatbed platform—equipped with a laser-based, nonabrasive system—was devised to clean tire rims, flanges for the oil and gas industry, and the sheets of a hull.

Titan utilizes the company's Flexion technology, which Foton says dispenses with the limitations of the standard static path of laser technology in favor of a motion-controlled system that efficiently cleans 100 percent of exposed parts.

The product is equipped with the CleanTech Megacenter, which includes stationary and handheld units. Titan has an integrated dust and residue collection system, and Fonon says it also has an optional 3D scanner to facilitate cleaning oddly shaped parts.
