Firestone Launches Polyiso Formula

WEDNESDAY, MARCH 15, 2017

Firestone Building Products Company LLC (Indianapolis) has introduced a new formulation of polyiso insulation.

The building product manufacturer announced the launch during the International Roofing Expo (IRE), held March 1-3, in Las Vegas.

The Firestone polyiso offering includes ISO 95+ GL Insulation, RESISTA Insulation and ISOGARD HD Cover Board.

The new formulation "outperforms the industry standard by up to 18 percent" and is equipped with the highest R-value per-inch in cold temperatures, the company says.

Firestone says that polyiso is environmentally friendly, requiring 85 percent less embodied energy to manufacture than mineral wool products. Further, the company adds that polyiso can be recycled and reused.

“Building owners, contractors, specifiers and architects have always relied on our polyiso for its high performance and cost efficiency,” said Ed Klonowski, ISO product manager at Firestone Building Products.

The company also showcased its self-adhered offering, Secure Bond Technology, during IRE.

Secure Bond Technology is described as a factory-applied, pressure-sensitive adhesive that ensures coverage across the membrane and establishes one of the strongest bonds possible, according to the company.
