ICP Group Acquires Floor Coating Firm

The parent company of a number of architectural and specialty coating and adhesive brands has added polymer floor coating manufacturer Rock-Tred Corp. to its portfolio.

The Innovative Chemical Products Group announced the acquisition of the Illinois-based company on Jan. 16; terms of the deal were not disclosed.

The ICP Group, of Andover, Massachusetts, said Rock-Tred will be integrated into ICP Construction Inc., one of three divisions of its business.

Founded in 1939, Rock-Tred is headquartered in Waukegan. The manufacturer produces floor coating products, wall coatings, flexible membranes, joint sealants and patching compounds.

The products are found in food facilities, commercial outlets, plants and research labs around the world.

In a letter to customers, Doug Mattscheck, CEO of ICP Group, said Christopher O’Brien, the former owner of Rock-Tred, will serve as ICP Construction’s new VP of Flooring Systems.

"He will work with me to strategically expand this product range organically and through acquisitions," Mattscheck said.

Commenting on the acquisition, Mattscheck added: "By expanding our product solutions in the building coatings market, we continue to extend our leadership and provide best-in-class solutions to contractors throughout North America."
