Raw Material Firms Ink Deal

EMCO Chemical Distributors Canada Ltd., announced that it successfully completed the acquisition of raw materials supplier Inortech Chimie Inc., of Terrebonne, Quebec.

Terms of the deal, announced early this month, were not disclosed.

The acquisition reflects EMCO Chemical Distributors’ ongoing commitment to increasing its market position in the specialty chemical industry, according to the company.

Inortech bills itself as “more than just another raw material supplier,” according to its website. It offers formulations that serve the coatings, paint, ink and plastics industries as well as advanced expertise and R&D support services, the company says.

The company has more than 25 years of experience as a “leading specialty chemical distribution company,” EMCO says.

In a statement, Edward Polen, president and CEO of EMCO Chemical Distributors, said: “EMCO views this acquisition as an amalgamation of strengths. Inortech’s excellent technical sales force, unsurpassed R&D support and recognizable name in our industries, will provide us greater opportunities to grow.”

EMCO Chemical Distributors Canada is a wholly owned subsidiary of EMCO Chemical Distributors Inc., of Pleasant Prairie, Wisconsin.
