AIA Teams Up With James Hardie


The American Institute of Architects has partnered with James Hardie Building Products Inc., a leader in fiber cement siding.

Through the partnership, James Hardie will support AIA initiatives and further generate education and engagement opportunities to enhance architects’ knowledge of residential and commercial building products, according to a company announcement.

“We are very pleased to have the support of James Hardie as an Innovation Partner in 2017,” said Robert Ivy, FAIA, executive vice president and CEO of the AIA. “[Its] knowledge and expertise in the residential construction industry can help us serve architects and advance good design in the built environment.”

By offering hundreds of courses and collaborating with innovative partners like James Hardie, the AIA helps its members work smarter and better, the company added.

Specifically, the company will be an "official sponsor" of and will be included in chapter and community leadership events. It will also be entitled to content placement in the AIA Architect Newsletter, social media channels and its website, according to James Hardie.

The manufacturer offers a diverse portfolio of fiber-cement cladding products designed to resist moisture and flames, and withstand most extreme weather conditions. The company’s U.S. headquarters are in Chicago.

The AIA is a professional organization for architects in the U.S. The institute has nearly 300 state and local chapters.
