HGTV Star’s Paint Line Expands
Fans of the HGTV hit Fixer Upper are getting a bigger fix of their new favorite paint, as Magnolia Home by Joanna Gaines expands its palette.
As we reported previously, designer and Fixer Upper costar Joanna Gaines introduced her brand of interior paints this past spring, partnering with KILZ. The Magnolia Home line initially featured 25 colors, which the brand described as “timeless and relaxed.”
Now, Magnolia Home has upped the choices, expanding to 150 colors, while keeping the original 25 as “Market Collection Colors,’ deemed “Joanna’s favorite.” The colors cover the spectrum, but are all muted hues, keeping with the signature Gaines style.
Interior, Furniture Paints
Magnolia Home offers two types of paint: A low-VOC, 100 percent acrylic interior paint, and a semi-gloss premium cabinetry and furniture paint.

The interior paint is available in matte, satin or eggshell, and can take on any of the 150 Magnolia colors. The company describes the paint as durable, with resistance to dirt and grime, and excellent hide and coverage.
The cabinetry and furniture paint, which the company touts as having superior flow and leveling, and fast-drying with a hard finish, comes in two colors: True White and Gaines’ signature Shiplap.
Texas Summer, Antiquing
The new colors available for the interior line are understated, with names that call to mind the lifestyle Gaines promotes with her design choices. Colors call to mind the Midwest and South (“Texas Summer,” a muted blue); domestic bliss (“By the Fireplace,” a deep red); and an aesthetic based around the unique and vintage (the olive-toned “Bespoke Green” and taupe “Antiquing”).
Both the interior and furniture paint retail in the $40-$50 range for a gallon, and are available in smaller volumes for touch-up jobs.
The KILZ brand of paints and primers is part of the Masco Corporation, which also owns the Behr brand.
