Elcometer Launches New Bresle Test Patches

THURSDAY, SEPTEMBER 1, 2016

Inspection equipment manufacturer Elcometer Limited (Manchester, England) has released a new tool for measuring the level of soluble salts on uncoated surfaces in accordance with ISO 8502-6.

The new Elcometer 135C Bresle Test Patch is a self-adhesive rubber film square with a sealed compartment used for taking samples of soluble salts.

Because they are said to easier to peel off than traditional patches, the company’s test patches reportedly facilitate the testing process.

When removing the patches after testing, they leave no foam on the substrate, the manufacturer explains, which means there is no need to scrape or reblast the surface prior to coating.

The patches feature foam walls that are 19 percent thicker than traditional patches, making needle insertion much easier, it adds.

Moreover, the high-quality adhesive used on the patch is said to ensure a watertight seal.

The new product comes with a Certificate of Cleanliness & Test Area and is available in packs of 25 or 100.
