Dunn-Edwards Launches Duraflo

FRIDAY, JUNE 3, 2016

California-based paint maker Dunn-Edwards Paints has introduced new interior finishes for use on interior surfaces.

Duraflo Premium in semi-gloss (50) and gloss (60) formulations is made with waterborne alkyd technology, providing hard, durable finishes with “excellent adhesion, hide, block resistance and reduced yellowing,” according to the company.

The paints are recommended for walls, trim, cabinets, moulding, kitchens, baths and high-traffic areas.

“These paints have less odor and dry faster than traditional oil-based paints,” added associate product manager Neha Koneru.

Like all Dunn-Edwards paints, the new lines do not contain ethylene glycol (EG). Dunn-Edwards said it removed EG from its paint formulas in 1984. EG, which is listed as a hazardous air pollutant and toxic air contaminant, can be harmful to humans, according to the Los Angeles-based company.
