Corrosion: Understanding It, Stopping It
Corrosion reportedly costs the United States more than $500 billion a year. Finding long-term, economically sound solutions for corrosion is highly complex.
The Engineered Corrosion Solutions 2016 (ECS) conference is designed to provide owners, reliability engineers and asset managers with unbiased insight and a factual understanding of the causes of corrosion, as well as how to make informed decisions in terms of treating these issues.
The third annual conference will be held May 5 at the Holiday Inn, Elk Grove, IL.
Understanding the Complexity of Corrosion
Corrosion is said to be an equal-opportunity problem, but the fundamental causes are the same, as are the solutions.
With that in mind, ECS is designed for those responsible for assets in all industries, including petrochemical, commercial, public works, water and wastewater, bridges, etc.

“The caliber of presenters in attendance from other areas of the country only presents one side of the conference experience,” said Mark Kolody Ph.D. of NASA’s Corrosion Technology Laboratory, on his ECS 2015 attendance.
“The size of the conference also facilitated networking between the attendees and presenters,” he added. “Overall, the conference provided a wealth of information that is directed not only towards the technical personal, but also managers and business owners.”
The one-day event runs 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
