New Epoxy Base to Reduce Moisture Vapor

Laticrete International Inc. has introduced a single-coat, 100 percent solids, liquid-applied, two-part epoxy coating designed to control moisture vapor emission from concrete surfaces.

The Dryteck Moisture Vapor Barrier Pigment Base provides “a uniform and consistent base color” for use under the company’s Spartacote coatings system, according to the manufacturer.

The product reportedly reduces the moisture vapor emission rate from ≤25 pounds/1,000 square feet/24 hours (1,415 µg/(s • m) to below 3 pounds/1,000 square feet/24 hours (170 µg/(s • m) in concrete slabs, according to the company.
